Paradox in English Dictionary means two situations contradicting each other. In the recent group discussion on ‘India Shining’ many of the participants spoke about the positive side of India. India no doubt has become an international hub and a major outsource of services. Today Indians have made to the list of Forbes list of billionaires. India has managed to achieve the 8.5% growth rate when the most advanced countries of the world (United States, Europe) are sliding down. Employment levels are high. We have also organised F1 Grand Prix which was the highly successful event in India. Year 2011 saw many changes in the India..The uprising of Anna Hazare's non-violence movement and people coming out to support him shows the people's support to combat corruption in India. And now coming up skyscrapers in Delhi and not to forget about the FDI in retail. So many things to show in our platter and many more things to be added up. As a writer I am not ironical in my approach when I talk about the Paradox in our country. India's growth rate is applausable but what about the monster of Inflation which is prevailing in our country. High level of growth rate has come with high level of inflation, high poverty, unemployment, corruption. These things are also in our platter along with other good things( mentioned above). The winter session of the government has extended and still the strong Lokpal bill has not yet been passed. Though India organised a highly successful F1 event and all the work was carried out with clockwork precision but why there was so much of money wastage while conducting CWG event. So can it be concluded that multiplicity of authorities of Government was responsible for CWG scam? This completely shows that the centre doesnot exercise its powers judiciously. According to Anna Hazare and his team, the existing Lokpal bill has certain flaws and need amendment. I was completely exasperated when I heard Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha proceedings. Nothing came to a conclusion and the result of Lokpal Bill still hangs. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee clearly stated that there shouldn't be any lokyuktas in the states and 'friendly' parties of the government such as Bahujan Samaj Party(BSP) and Samajwadi Party(SP) also supported Mrs. Banerjee for dropping the lokyuktas from the states. Not to forget about the agitation of Anna in Delhi and many opposition parties supported him and opposed the congress and now statements such as 'The bill is a shit' coming up from same opposition parties who earlier supported Anna. I guess(certainly sure) this is the sole reason why Lokpal bill has not been passed since 40 years.
